Jane became an RMT in 1995, and promptly dove into the healing arts.
Having been a dancer in what now seems like another life, Jane knows the importance of moving, and how it supports her work. Soon after starting her practice, she started training in Goju Ru Karate. Several sprained fingers and a knee problem later, she got her Brown Belt. Having gained valuable knowledge about pain and its repercussions, she gave up Karate and started Yoga.
Within the next few years Jane became a Reiki Master, a Reflexologist, and a Yoga instructor, teaching 4 yoga classes per week (Jane is now an eternal yoga student), and regular Reiki certification courses.
In 2017 Jane completed the Contemplative End of Life Care Program at Toronto’s Institute For Traditional Medicine, and spent a year volunteering at Toronto’s Journey Home Hospice, an end of life care facility for homeless people. She continues to work privately as a Death Doula.
Jane enjoys teaching. Having developed courses in Chinese Acupressure, Essential Oils, Reiki I, II and III, Anatomy, and Reflexology which she facilitated at Sheena’s Place, a support centre for people with eating disorders (2001-2012). She also taught these courses to stressed out staff at the Hospital For Sick Children (2008-2013).
Jane was a researcher in a 4-year study led by St. Jude Teaching Hospital, through the Psychology Department at the Hospital for Sick Children. This study observed the effects of massage on child bone marrow recipients. She also worked for the Palliative Care Team at the Hospital For Sick Children from 2004-2009, and continues to privately contract comfort care for patients and their loved ones.
Jane is an anatomy geek, a fair weather cyclist, a forever student of yoga, a procrastinator, a streaming series binger, and a huge music fan.
Jane is available on Sundays.
